Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4, 1954. O'Hara is the proud recipient of several prizes, including the Genie Award. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she won the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards. She first came to the attention of an actress in 1974 as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work on Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic writing and acting skills, earning her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for an episode of a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory board in 2022. She was joined by Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert and Tina Fey.
