Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in each seasons of Shark Tank. As of February 2020 she had completed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family sometimes relied upon free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk often and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. She later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her first year of high school.
